How Do I Register for SAMs sessions/credits at the 2009 Annual Meeting?

  1. Pre-register for the annual meeting.  During the Registration Process, you will be given the option to purchase a ticket in order to reserve an Audience Response Unit (ARU) needed for your participation in SAMs sessions. The fee to reserve a unit is $30.00.

  2. You will not be able to reserve an audience response unit after April 8. Prior to April 8, if you have already registered for the annual meeting, but did not register for an ARU, you can still purchase a ticket by calling Hadijah Robertson Kagolo at 1-301-209-3371

  3. When you arrive at the meeting to pick up your badge and program materials, you will be given a ticket for your ARU.  Exchange your ticket for the ARU at the SAMs counter.  NOTE: You will be asked for credit card verification.  In the event you do not return your audience response unit, your credit card will be charged $75.

  4. Go to the SAMs sessions of your choice.  There will be 3 sessions (total) offered. The SAMs listing can be viewed at the Meeting Program site.

  5. During a SAMs session, the speaker will ask interactive questions.  You will be able to respond using your SAMs audience response unit.  The audience feedback will appear in real time on the screen. There is no pass/fail and you will not be graded on your responses.

  6. At the end of the meeting, please return your audience response unit to the SAMs counter.

  7. SAM credit for these sessions are available only to attendees who check out an ARU on site and complete the required online evaluation of the session.

  8. The online evaluation system will be open May 2 - June 8 via www.acmp.org. Please note you will require your Registration I.D. in order to complete the session evaluation.

  9. Post meeting, ACMP will provide the ABR with required statistical information of the SAMs program. ACMP will send to each SAM participant a listing of sessions evaluated, to be used by the participant for self-reporting the activities to the ABR. 

Don't require Maintenance of Certification, but still want to sit in on a SAMs session??

No problem.  The sessions are open to everyone.  An audience response unit is not required to attend.
